We Rock Your Trail
LDTC is on Fingerboard Mountain building a small re-route of the Appalachian Trail. The section we are re-routing is worn and heavily eroded with many loose boulders and exposed roots. This new section will make accending this mountain more enjoyable. Building this new section we encountered a very wet section, but we were luckly when we uncovered a crack in the rock face where we could position the base rocks for the crib-wall. We filled in behind the crib-wall with a lot of crush before covering it all with dirt. in other areas, we had to remove over a foot of duff just to get to soild dirt. From there we will add more crush and bring the treadway back to level. On the lower section we added several new crib-walls and 10 new steps.
